Puppy Love

Today began with my nearly-impossible-to-schedule private client’s office emailing at 7:30 am to see if I could fit in a session at 10 am, which I did after a great and productive morning client call.  YOGA EMERGENCY RESOLVED.
Lots of productive work stuff during the day, but the real highlight if we’re being honest, was time with Belle and Otto.  They are just so cute together.  [These are pics of the puppy love portion, not the spirited tug-of-war over a coveted sock.]

And I must also report that I am experiencing my own Puppy Love over Zooey Deschanel.
Obviously, I’m not alone in noting that at first glance (and even second and third), one might feel that she is hard-selling QUIRKY.  But at least she’s willing to poke fun of that on SNL.
But the more I watch THE NEW GIRL, the more I find her charming.
I realized that if she’s going to be selling something, rather than being one of countless would-be sexpot starlets, at least her thing is this combo of quirky individualism and, frankly, sheer niceness.   Her character in THE NEW GIRL is just unfailingly decent, but weird enough that she’s not boring.
There’s just something compelling about ZD, and even if the quirk factor is often dialed up to 11, she’s somehow managed to ingratiate herself with me in a surprisingly short amount of time –– which come to think of it is the entire premise of the series since she moves in with three dudes and charms them all.
Trying to resist Zooey Deschanel’s cuteness is like trying to resist something much bigger than you –– like Facebook or Puppy Love –– and once you finally given in, you wonder why you made all that fuss in the first place.
