Morning service at the Oakland Center for Spiritual Living which was fantastic.
Awesome music by Susan’s friend Nadine Risha; very global and vibey mix of chant-y, Sanskrit mood music and some serious Barbra, too (“A Piece of Sky”).
They do this thing where they welcome newcomers, asking us to stand up and bless us. I held Belle (book cover style) which seemed to delight and confuse the crowd.
Nothing can top more birthday cake, in this case for the 4 year-old daughter of a Susan protege, Bella. I drew the line at jumping into the moonwalk, but loved the party especially since we arrived moments before the cake was served.
Unbelievably lovely Sunday nap followed by dinner afterwards at Plant — organic and by the bay and truly the nicest, most San Francisco romantic view ever.
Home. A little tiny bit of work. And then a nightcap at Don Pistos — I am determined to succeed at at branding myself a regular.
