When Something Goes Right

I’ve always loved the Paul Simon song “Something So Right” –– and today was one of those days, mostly mid-afternoon as I began an epic confrontation with Triple A that remains unresolved –– where it hit home again.  [NOTE: I usually love Triple A and bless their existence.]
However, in the midst of this, I realized –– and I realize this is a true “luxury problem” –– that I have no cufflinks for the dress shirt I want to wear next week on the Alaska Cruise.
I don’t really have time to shop for them in the next three days, nor do I particularly feel like spending a lot of money on something I wear only a few times a year.
Then, trusting somehow that J. Crew would have the answer –– as Amy (and Michele Obama) have noted, it’s ALL about J. Crew these days –– and sure enough they did.
Perfect fabric cough links for $12.50.
However, there is not a single store in California that has them.
This was revealed in my online chat with David W. from J. Crew while I was on hold and when I explained that it seemed foolish to pay $25 express charges for $12.50 cufflinks to get them here before I leave on Friday, since they could not be purchased in my state he offered to refund the entire shipping charge.
Thus in 24 – 48 hours, they will be mine for a mere $12.50.
Something so right, indeed.
