Some Synchronicities

Last night I went to Marnie’s signing for her book CREATING TIME at Book’s Inc.
One of the chapters is about synchronicity and I received just such an event while attending:
While in a Book’s Inc. store for a friend’s book signing, I received an email from Book’s Inc. rejecting me for a signing for UPWARD DOG saying they didn’t think it worked for their clientele.   (IE, pretty much the entire group for that signing and then some would easily have transferred to my non-existent event.)  Too funny … and further proof that it’s all about the tele-call.
Another synchronicity is that I was very attracted to Jennifer Lee’s RIGHT BRAIN BUSINESS PLAN book and just got a copy last week and it turns out she knows Marnie and was at the signing.  Time to dive into that book next.
Small synchronistic world…
Today I prepped a tiny bit to assist Susan at the New Living Expo on Sunday, but mostly just relaxed a bit before heading to a poetry concert that was incredible (and honestly, in theory could have been abysmal and terrifying but Susan loves them so I trusted completely.)
Another synchronicity:  the Rumi poem that figures prominently in my screenplay was woven into the program.
The music was actually fantastic and so was the poetry, and one of the highlights was one of Kim Rosen’s own poems, saved as an encore.  (So glad we stayed for it.)
I did get into a mental tug of war with the strangers in the audience, none of whom were nearly as well-behaved as Belle, who exhibited perfect, lady-like concert behavior –– meaning she sat contentedly and just took it all in without extraneous movement or sound.
They did invite audience members to move or dance if they felt inspired to, which was, quite honestly, a BIG mistake.  It only served to pull focus from their incredibly wonderful collaboration, particularly in a setting where someone might be “dancing” in front of you, pretending to be enraptured but really just begging to be noticed.  Yuck…
Even so, despite a few audience members trying to out-hippie each other, the music/poetry combo really, really worked and was inspiring and lavish and beautiful (just as Susan predicted.)
[And again, perhaps one such inspiration from the night is that I should immediate just craft out a pamphlet  entitled “Belle’s Guide to Appropriate Public Behavior” for exactly this kind of occasion;  just another example of how “What Would Belle Do” will pretty much always give you the right answer.]
