So This Is Christmas

Awoke early this am, and although there were no mangers involved, went off to tend the animals.
First, the cat Tula needed to be fed at Val and Clark’s place.  I stayed an extra 20 minutes just so she’d have some human interaction and affection, although I do think she welcomes her vacation “me time” and is totally content.
Later, Belle and I had a fantastic beach walk.
Without Susan, I listen to music and today enjoyed 95% of the program of Simone Dinnerstein’s January 14th concert we’re attending.  [One piece is very modern and I can’t find a recording of it anywhere.]
She’s playing my very favorite of all the Brahms Intermezzi (Op. 118, no 2) and for that alone I’d pay admission.
I have a huge feeling about 2012 and where all my projects and work and life are heading, and somehow this quiet, alone day with Belle felt just right.
Minor organizational projects (eg. creating new folders for all accounts in my portable filing system and archiving 2011), reading WRITE IT DOWN, MAKE IT HAPPEN, and watching episodes of 30 Rock and Gautier’s interview with Lady Gaga, filled out the day until I picked Susan up at the airport.
The day actually began with a wonderful Christmas Synchronicity;  a friend from my yoga days –– someone who was amazingly helpful before re: my top writing project –– is visiting SF and somehow spotted my name on the cover of BAY WOOF (which I didn’t know was even on the stands yet.)
But at 9:30 am she emailed me and tomorrow we’re sharing yoga at my Lotus class and then meeting another author friend for drinks afterward.
And although this week I want to send some truly heartfelt and targeted emails and letters to the most important people in my life this year, I just decided to text yesterday’s picture of Belle to my nearest and dearest first:
I’ve never sent out Xmas texts before but this was fun and sweet and easy and frankly this picture says it all.
Happiest Holidays to Everyone!
