Livin’ On A Prayer

Well, almost.
I am –– I admit –– compulsively opening up iTunes, searching for “Vilga,” and checking the ratings and reviews of my novel DOWNWARD DOG (coming out June 11th).
And I swear literally every time I am about to burst into “Living On A Prayer” by the genius Bon Jovi because of the lyrics

Whooah, we’re half way there
Livin’ on a prayer
Take my hand and we’ll make it – I swear
Livin’ on a prayer

Except … there’s a sad note of disappointment since we’re ALMOST half-way there.
Right now, my goal is 100 five star ratings and 50 reviews;  currently we’re at 39 and 21.
Thus, technically, “Whooah, we’re 39% and 42% there” –– which, you’ve got to admit, is not nearly as catchy a lyric.
The thing is, it’s really NOT even about iTunes –– it’s about Amazon –– so my goal is to get folks to write the reviews now so on June 11th, launch day, they can re-post them on Amazon nearly effortlessly.  [ITunes has some mystery to it, but I even created THIS INSANELY DETAILED LINK to show the Challenged how simple it really is.]
And in case this isn’t clear:  weirdly eBooks only appear on Amazon on the day of their release;  there is no pre-ordering.
I realize, however, from a more objective, non-Bon Jovi-inspired perspective, that my situation is actually rather triumphant, especially when compared to my fellow author’s launching strategies.
However, honestly, all I want is to get to 50 five stars and 25 reviews so that I can shout sing to Belle with total enthusiasm (and since this book is, more or less, her college fund:

Whooah, we’re half way there
Livin’ on a prayer
Take my hand and we’ll make it – I swear
Livin’ on a prayer
