A Flash of Green

Today awoke and began working on the core/ab/whatever workshop for January and for our online course (amongst episodes of 30 Rock.)
Watched one ab DVD and did the workout and although the information was rather good, the quality was shockingly poor.  We’re not talking boom mikes entering the frame –– we’re talking stray fingers.  And the yoga lady who leads it (who’s actually very pretty) has no make-up and no lighting.  Astonishing –– but a good start (and frankly I’m already a little sore.)
Transformation with Susan afterwards which is always inspiring and expansive.
Before we started, Belle heard a weird noise and this is how she perched for ten minutes (photo by Susan):
Say what you will, Belle is MORE than a dog.
Loved TRANSFORMATION (as always) and got a lot out of it regarding setting all my goals for 2012 (the question I played on today.)
After a break (more abs and more 30 Rock), Susan and I went to the labyrinth at Lands End which is spectacular.  So thrilled by how amazingly beautiful the views are.  Funny, but it’s a bit trippy to be on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge, given that our normal beach walk has the opposite view.
Belle was extremely patient and understanding that although we were walking with the ocean tantalizingly near us, she could not sky-dive off the edge and jump into the waves.  Thus, it was only fair that afterwards we took her down the road to the beach.  There are massive riptides a little further at sea, but the shore allowed Belle some major splashing around during fetch.   (This photo of the beautiful sunset also by Susan:)
We actually saw that rare Green Flash phenomenon of the sun which felt very magical.  Basically that little triangle that’s yellow for a few brief seconds became green.
Damp from the beach, a book store visit and then dinner at La Mediterranee which we love and then home by 8pm.
I am happily exhausted from this holiday day and while I am flipping a coin about one more set of ab DVDs for viewing before bed, Belle is sweetly conked out from her hike and sunset splash-fest.
I do have some thoughts about what I learned during Transformation, but feel I need a good night’s sleep to process them before entering more musings here.
The only other thing I have to report is that a decent order for one of my old yoga DVDs came in from a cruise line today.
Between the sun’s green flash or the flash of green from this extra, unexpected income, 2012 already feels very auspicious.
