Almost everyone now believes they “should” be meditating.
There are endless studies proving how just good it is for us.
(And God knows we need it.)
And yet something so simple–basically just sitting still without texting or checking our phones for a few minutes–is so enormously difficult.
Meditation often becomes just another thing on our To Do list that despite our best intentions, probably never happens.
In my classes and wellness workshops these day, I have people start with just 1 minute of silent meditation to convince them it’s possible.
(Thus far no one has started texting mid-minute…yet!).
So many people have thanked me for that 1 minute of stillness, that I’m now tempted to ramp things up to 2, a full 120 seconds.
And in my DailyOM online classes, of the over 10,000 comments in the Discussion Groups, by far the most common ones are people thanking me for the guided meditations.
So…I’m taking the hint.
From now on each month I’m going to offer a FREE guided meditation.
In other words, I’m starting a MEDITATION OF THE MONTH CLUB.
