Who Knew (re: Bolivia)

Bikram with Adrian –– he is so brave! –– in the morning, followed by an ASTONISHING $5 haircut in Chinatown.
Then we executed a highly successful errand for the Secret Project (more will be revealed) in between laundry and then teaching a private client before dashing off to pick up Dan who was arriving for my birthday at the airport.
MYSTERIOUS text from Clark to “Call Him” turned out to be that his 2 “day laborers” saw the Telegraph Hill steps for the move and turned and walked away.   Fortunately, I had Adrian and now Dan with me, who in the most saintly fashion agreed to help and with Clark and his friend Mark, were able to form an assembly line down the hill, each of us carry a box down two flights of stairs.  [Note:  this was about 1,000 times easier than making the 20 individual trips this would have required.]
In appreciation, Clark and Val offered to take us to dinner and, having just challenged Dan’s statement during the airport ride that “there are no raw food restaurants in San Francisco,” we discovered that there was one with half a raw menu within walking distance from our respective houses, Peña Pachamama.
Amazingly, the cuisine was largely Bolivian and delicious, and even more amazing (for me), the music turned out to be FANTASTIC.  From a quick glance at the website, I thought “OK, we have an hour before they start the mariachi music,” but instead it was sexy and soulful and vaguely Arabic at times.
I loved everything about the restaurant’s vibe, decor, and cuisine, and the fact that it had an incredibly international scene happening.  People from Russia (including one woman who stood up and danced wearing the shortest shorts I’ve ever seen on a non-stripper), Peru, Canada, and I forget where-else.
Dropped Dan at his hotel and now after returning a bunch of client and other emails, preparing once again to NOT watch THE DESCENDANTS (four days and 2 hours left on the rental), before turning in, and dreaming off Raw/Bolivian cuisine and awesome music at Peña Pachamama.
[And oddly, on their website there’s a quote from Robin Williams:  “The kind of place (where) even the Amish would dance” –– which is remarkable in that I kept feeling and saying that the team work required for the Val/Clark move on the steps felt like an  Amish  barn-raising” –– not very Bolivian, but still it all connects, right?]
