Can it really only be six days ago that we left Florida?
Filmed the book promos today with Dan and Belle in full talk-show format. Based on the quick screen grabs and in-camera playback I’ve seen, Cyrene did an incredible job. Here’s a close-up of Belle looking at me:
Filmed segment two at the beach at Magic Hour which went even better than I expected.
Covered in water and sand, we returned to Dan’s place to change and had a company dinner at Zephyr, a vegan (or whatever) tasty restaurant where Belle made a huge hit of herself despite knocking over two water glasses.
Just before bed, I re-rented HANNAH just so I could watch the last 15 minutes (started on the plane but didn’t have time to finish.) In so many ways I loved it (an intelligent director; non-plot driving flamenco sequences; the dizziness of not knowing if you’re dealing with Cate Blanchett or Tilda Swinton as the villainess) although I don’t know if retreating to the Arctic Circle is really the best way to prepare your perfect weapon child to deal with life. So many life lessons in case Belle and I have to flee society, though — and who doesn’t appreciate that kind of intel?
