Right before bed last night I got a text from Val asking if I could babysit Jonah this afternoon, and since I pretty much could and it’s super-fun, I did –– but it did mean re-arranging all of my plans (many of them merely mental).
For one thing, rather than my usual 4:30 Bikram, I had to go at 9 am if I wanted to attend.
The 9 am class was even smaller –– a grand total of 4 people –– but I loved it, probably because of my increasing Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to Bikram.
I managed to dash off a few quick emails before lunch with Susan and Amy Ahlers, an outing which had many fantastic and even emotionally moving moments. [People seem, in general, quite jealous of our Magical Manifestation Lunches and are dying to join but so far it’s just our Happy Trio.]
Amy and I shot a spontaneous brief video afterwards, potentially for my coaching, but I failed to honor the Tyra Principle of Knowing Your Angles and I feel it’s almost unusable from a vanity perspective –– but the audio is great and I might just use that for something.
Belle and I left to pick-up Jonah at his school for my baby-sitting gig where Belle made her usual smashing impression on the second and third graders.
Returning home Jonah played video games while I tried to process various computer issues (like compressing the 20 MB audio file from my telecall into a 10 MB file, the limit that WordPress will allow me to upload.)
I was feeling slightly overwhelmed by life –– a feeling brought on by figuring out too many technical issues like file compression and splash pages and mailing lists and wondering if I should have gone for a buzz cut –– until seconds ago I may have gotten my single highest Words With Friends score for “Jogged” (138 pounds).
Somehow that felt like a sign –– or maybe it means I should just start jogging again.
In any case, sometimes everything DOES indeed magically line up.
