Went for my second floatation session today at Zazen –– miraculous because I bought the groupon, and then they screwed up the location and gave me a freebie, so my savings is astronomical.
In a way, since I still teach 2.5 people yoga privately just to “stay in the game,” I’m doing this for the exact parallel reasons they hire me.
Basically –– and I was already thinking this and then Dan said it independently –– the floatation place is like hiring a personal trainer for meditation.
It’s the same sense of commitment, which in this case means that it’s easier to actually stay floating for the hour than it is to get up every ten minutes and watch something on Hulu.
So I’m seriously thinking now of becoming a member and trying to do a floatation session at least once a week as a way of deepening my meditation practice.
(It may be the only way to stop myself from endless netflix and hulu breaks while trying to write the new script this month, bolstered by prosecco and then late night scotch … Yes, the ONLY way!)
