I admit that lately I have felt close to Patti Stanger (the Millionaire Matchmaker) level of frustration about my inability to “set the date” for various signings and events.
Of course, I know that for TV for the new book, I am more or less on call and at the whim of network TV’s changing demands. (Something she would NEVER allow in any dating situation).
However, yesterday was so satisfying becauset we confirmed dates now for Acres-SF, and Jeffrey Pet Store, and Laughing Lotus signings! I’m more than ready to start inviting folks, especially since I’ve not reached out to almost any of the delightful people I know in San Francisco on a social level yet.
Today/Tomorrow massive constant contact emails to follow but here’s the info:
Saturday the 29th (11 – 1pm for Acre) and that evening Jeffrey is having it’s 9th annual Halloween party and we’re signing there, 6 to 9 pm.
Laughing Lotus will be Friday, 11/11 from 8 to 9:30 pm.
In other great news Laughing Lotus news, Jasmine has offered me another class: Happy Hour on Friday 12:30 to 1:45 (yes, I know — that’s actually 75 minutes but that’s what they call it!).
No morning ice coffee yet at Acre –– it seems that may be an impossible dream –– but since S and I are forming the SCORPIO MOON DETECTIVE AGENCY (a kind of sexier “Murder She Wrote” with two bestselling self-actualization authors as sleuths) we are on our first case: what happens 50 percent of the time to the vanishing pastry delivery at Acre before it opens at 9 am.
Was writing two different characters for Cristy and LLS, but they have now merged into one (spectacular) character. Given my altar boy roots, it felt necessary to inform my muses that I was feeling artistically polyamorous. As though we were in some kind of Noel Coward play, they took this completely in stride.
I’m so glad I’m working on the new play for many reasons, and I have to give LLS some additional inspirational credit here. She’s always been a champion of the A-H quotes about the fastest way to get the first book published is to start writing the new book.
Thus right now, rather than spending 100% of my energy on marketing the existing projects, now that I’m crafting something new on the page might just give the other two books enough breathing room so that they can bloom.
[IE, apparently the over-watched bestseller never happens.]
