Reconnecting My Unconscious

With all my pre-birthday goals zipping along, I re-remembered that according to the SECRET LANGUAGE OF BIRTHDAYS I was born on the day of the Disconnected Unconscious.  And then I looked closely for the first time at the symbolism the book offers for my Special Day which seems to be a large wooden keg & a corkscrew –– go figure!
Somehow, this was like the most productive, activity-filled day EVER.
Awoke early and jump rope for 20 minutes.
Tons of emails and then great client call + another quick follow-up.
Traveled to the DMV to renew my parking permit –– which I’ve gotten down to a science.
Shared emails about the final rewrite tweaks with my producer.
My most scheduling-challenged yoga client suddenly requested a session in the afternoon which actually did work, even though Susan and I had an official meeting right before.  [And in a typically, scheduling-challenged person’s way, I waited for 40 minutes after showing up before the secretary and I concluded that the session was just not happening.)
Bikram which was somehow quite manageable (I really do think the secret is a full liter of water 90 minutes before class and then drinking as little during the class as possible.)
Another client session.
And then Susan and I joined a delightful dinner with Val’s visiting parents, whom I was meeting for the first time.
This takes me until now, where I just watched the second half of JOHN CARTER, which is a big sprawling mess but somehow sorta sweetly addlebrained.
The movie actually has a VERY disconnected unconscious quality to it –– tons of things are dreamlike or left unexplained or just make no sense whatsoever.
I’m glad I saw it, although in typical disconnect unconsciousness-style, I kept thinking Johnny Depp had somehow gotten younger and buffer and landed on Mars.
[Which isn’t my worst idea ever, actually.]
