Today I was struck by –– and I don’t mean to oversell this but … – a stroke of New Age Genius.
So much is happening that I needed to create some project boards to keep track of everything going on, but of course they had some Vision Board elements (how could they not?)
But then I remembered something: Vision Boards are pretty great, but also pretty annoying, too.
They can be inspiring, yet also a constant reminder of that thing you don’t have (yet … or maybe even YET!)
And one of my (very common) quirks is that I am constantly forgetting all that I’ve accomplished and how far along I really am towards whatever I’ve put on that Vision Board.
So instead, I decided to invent THE MOMENTUM BOARD.
Each time something happens that furthers you towards your goal, you put something up.
It’s got that Vision Board thing but it’s actually all about what’s ALREADY MANIFESTED.
It’s a statement about how and where you’re going and you far you’ve come –– not just a picture of thing you wish you could have but don’t quite know how to just go out and get.
So I created one for the release of my novel DOWNWARD DOG and it was super-fun (I love any graphic project) and also re-assuring.
It’s so easy to forget that I’ve done five interviews this week + been featured in two email blasts. mostly because I’m wondering about what’s next. I lose track and any appreciation for my own momentum.
MOMENTUM was a the big theme at both the San Francisco Abraham Hicks workshop I went to in the Fall and was mentioned constantly at the Cancun retreat. Like literally every question was turned around and answered from the perspective of “What momentum are you building here?”
I think I’m really on to something.
Although sadly, I think that this –– probably my Greatest Invention –– might not be something I can trademark or copyright or make a penny from … (sigh).
Still, I’m happy to share it anyway … as is Belle.
(Although she maintains a history of being largely indifferent to my career success, she does enjoy the dinners out it buys us both.)
