Today was Susan’s birthday and we celebrated with an incredibly lovely, extremely hand-crafted gifts-oriented gathering at Anamandara.
It is also the site where I first met Val and Clark and Jonah, almost a year ago to the day.
The morning began with both an intense script-revising sessions –– there are still two or three more passes I want to complete before handing it off to my producer right after the new moon this Friday at midnight –– and crafting out the email campaign for next Thursday’s first tele-call for my Creative Coaching.
In fact, between the intensity of the script-revising and conference call set-up, mixed with Birthday Delight, I somehow forgot to watch the last 50 minutes of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE until now, where it has completely evaporated from my itunes rental queue, leaving Tom Cruise stranded in a sandstorm in the middle of Dubai.
Somehow, I trust Tom will find his way back, however. [Although I am tempted to re-rent the movie to watch the last hour and/or just take a short plane flight in the near future.]
Back on track …
It was really amazingly fun to celebrate Susan’s day with her. Lunch with Val and Belle, complete with some mini-cupcakes.
Such incredibly great and personalized gifts –– Clark’s amazing drawing; Val’s wonderful visual poem and hand-knitted, flamboyant scarf; Valerie 2’s four adapted Poems for Susan; a construction paper book of favorite Susan memory photos from me; and Jonah just stayed direct with the construction paper and made a boat, a hat and an airplane as gifts.]
And I have a “store-bought” gift for Susan, too — one that left Malaysia on Monday, traveled to Japan, and fed-ex now tells me as of this morning was in Anchorage, Alaska but — as of this exact writing — is currently in Oakland, California.
[Stay Tuned.]
