Today I taught my yoga client at 7 am and then just made it –– after an 8:05 trip to Whole Foods to buy their Sashimi-ready salmon and grab a latte –– to Bikram for my friend Jennifer’s 9 am class.
And then a zillion phones calls and emails and 2 clients …
And then to the incredible saltwater pool at the YMCA which I love where I realize –– even though it’s semi-deserted –– that I now gravitate towards The Fast Lane.
And then back home for some exciting website revisions, the kind that you start planning and then realize two hours have flown by.
I felt the same way about all my work today on the Book Trailer for the novel, something I’m genuinely excited about creating.
It feels new and fresh and fun and full of endless creative (and marketing) possibilities.
I remember WAY BACK in the day, production managing music videos for a spell and it reminds me of that.
Suddenly this intense project is happening, usually for just a one day shoot, and so many elements are coming together so fast.
It’s the opposite of feature film stuff –– although that’s absolutely true once you’re in production –– because start to finish, it’s like one, maybe two, weeks of work.
We’re going to be shooting in April, so I do have some time to put it all together, and yet even today so many elements –– talent, locations, sponsors –– took quantum leaps forward.
Such, I suppose, is life in the Fast Lane –– whether it’s saltwater or production.

Are you shooting in Mexico? Non-union? Perro Alto?
NYC –– return home for one second to SF and then leave with Belle for 10 days!
I meant “Perro Bajo”.
