Now I so wish I could just write about how awesome this moment was yesterday when I faxed over the signed option agreement to my Hollywood Friend who’s championing the novel.
But in all honesty, I feel that I have to let Page 6 have first crack at this.
I can hint though: someone who’s cast 50+ movies (think films that have grossed hundreds of millions), including some that have won multiple Oscars is coming on board, along with an Oscar-winning producer. It’s not a bad day.
And here’s the fax machine captured as it transmitted the signed option after I had it notarized by the rascal of a UPS Store clerk who obsesses over Procedure and Protocol (I sort of threw him a bone because the notarizing even involves a thumbprint, ie. Procedural Nirvana).
And here’s another juicy thing from yesterday that I don’t feel I can fully reveal: we’re getting serious with “The Art Thief.”
Now I was once quite fond of “The Art Thief” until several tens of thousands of dollars worth of canvases that were borrowed somehow never got returned. Heartfelt notes to no avail. Phone calls not returned. Visualizations that haven’t materialized. OK, time for the lawyers (and maybe the police.)
And somehow the nickname of “The Art Thief” makes a VERY unpleasant situation a little fun and glamorous — you’d think I was talking about Cary Grant or that male model from White Collar, instead of well … I should stop right here.
What else about the day can I reveal…?
Worked most of the day at the hipster office space.
Susan and I bravely snuck in a short but delightful beachwalk.
One episode of ANTM (somehow we missed it last week.)
4,000 emails about restructuring the UPWARD DOG website and crafting several courses based on the work and creating some fun headline speeches.
Have almost forgotten that I have a San Francisco Signing Event on Friday and one in NYC on Monday.
So even though I must be discrete about some triumphs and struggles, things are very much IN THE FLOW.
