Tonight’s Harry Potter Party was super-fun, although I have to admit I find the movies utterly impenetrable. I’ve read (and enjoyed) the first book, but it really does seem like the most complicated, arcane study and all the movies have blended together into one confusing swirl for me. Lots of super-significant things seem to be happening all the time that only hard-core fans can decipher.
But …
I did love this party so much.
First, Susan was Sybil, played by Emma Thompson.
Val was a (sexed-up, PG-13) Luna.
And Clark — with Jonah as Harry Potter –– was Professor Slughorn.
I took these photos so I don’t have one of myself as Professor Lockheart, but I have to say that my outfit rocked.
Basically, he just wears suits and capes and carries his own books around, so it was easy for me to put on some Armani and that amazing red bathrobe and drag UPWARD DOG (which has me on the cover) and Ta Dah … There I Am.
[And given that my activity right before the party was a phone check-in with my new publicist, I think I’m really nailing Professor Lockhart, Celebrity Author, dead on.]
