— At least on Earth Day.
And definitely if you’re going to Muir Woods on a Sunday morning, not knowing really registering that it is, in fact, Earth Day and that admission is free (and parking is therefore IMPOSSIBLE.)
Went with Belle and Rhiannon this morning after her Crunch class on the Embarcadero and went through stunningly dramatic micro-climates over the Golden Gate Bridge.
Just as we were about to give up on the parking, a space miraculously opened up and we spent a magnificent hour amongst the redwoods.
It was an amazing reminder that even with all my many challenges, I do have the absolute freedom to come back here pretty much whenever I wish –– especially on non-Earth Days where parking is easy and the paths are less crowded….and I will.
A fantastic client call followed my a mini-nap and then a gathering to celebrate Marney Makridakis, Susan’s friend and now bestselling author of CREATING TIME. Skimmed the book this morning before meeting Marney and now cannot wait to read it cover to cover.
Loved everyone at the gathering –– hosts Joshua and Gina and Lisa, and Val, Clark, Jonah, and Elissa –– and Lisa’s dog Archie (who was clearly a person under an enchantment.)
Belle was well-behaved but frankly not great, largely because Archie had a non-Lab attitude towards food. For example, Lisa had left masses of rawhide behind a plant and in drawers and Belle was beyond mystified that this was happening. This ridiculous non-consumption baffled her as much as if was as if someone were lighting hundred dollar bills on fire in front of me. Whenever I give her any treat like that it’s instantly devoured; I never have a surplus of food on hand, and it is unimaginable that I could just leave buckets of rawhide out in full view.
But then again, as I mentioned, Archie isn’t really a dog but some person under an enchantment –– so in the end it all makes sense.
OK –– must Create some More Time NOW in order to get ready for what promises to be a MAJOR week ahead.
And frankly, given how gorgeous Muir Woods is, I take back what I said about avoiding the Earth, even on earth day. In the end, it’s kinda worth it, parking and all.
