I’m not a big fan of a 2012 Apocalypse, but Wikipedia defines one as:
“An Apocalypse (Greek: “lifting of the veil” or “revelation”) is a disclosure of something hidden from the majority of mankind in an era dominated by falsehood and misconception, i.e. the veil to be lifted.”
I love the idea that 2012 will be about “the veil being lifted,” at least for me personally, and seeing reality more clearly and purely. And although I am not an archeologist, way back in 1998 I was interested in the Mayan Calendar and thought i might write an interesting book on the topic of 2012. (A total lack of desire to learn ancient Mayan proved to be the first obstacle.)
In any case, I honestly believe I was the first person (outside of Sedona) to be aware of the topic. And now … 2012 has arrived.
[By the way, one of my favorite modern composers Jonathan Goldman has a great vibe-y album entitled 2013; ie, he’s already gone past all the fuss entirely.]
I feel the year is off to an extraordinary beginning: arriving home from babysitting (FYI I insisted I was watching Jonah happily as a friend favor; they insisted on paying me; lots of back and forth until I acquiesed. Thus, I have begun the year getting paid for doing something I would have done for free), I found MIRACLE parking in my favorite spot.
Before you scoff, please realize that living on the top of a hill with a prime view of fireworks and bridges, parking is perhaps our greatest challenge. Hence, my utter feelings of triumph.
Vivid dreams and then a long beach walk and lunch with Susan and Belle.
Nap and then spent some of my babysitting loot on a solo dinner at Houston’s where I could write and reflect on 2011’s many events.
Most notably, I realized while recollecting about the year, how incredibly transformative 2011 was. Beyond all the adventures [New Zealand, Australia, the Caribbean, Alaska, Florida, and of course, NYC, LA, and then moving to San Francisco], far more importantly, the new friendships I’ve made have utterly changed my life.
These have been so OVERWHELMINGLY positive and forward-moving, with veils being lifted in astonishing and wonderful ways, that I’m beyond excited about whatever 2012 will reveal.
