Was discussing with LLS and Susan our favorite quotes from Saturday’s live Abraham broadcast.
LLS loved “Look at the shiny object” –– ie, distract yourself from any negative focus however you can. It was very humorously said, too, with great comic timing, almost in mock hypnotist tones.
And today Susan and I were chatting about “Go General” –– Abraham’s instruction to move from the Specifically Negative to the Generally Negative, and then from there move to the Generally Positive, and finally the Specifically Positive.
In other words, “Go General” over any negative situation to lesson its impact and then you can move towards a more positive framework.
But I keep thinking of those annoying, omnipresent commercials for car insurance where they talk about “Go, General!” because “The General” has gotten them such great deals.
I guess I can use this guy, the cartoon star of the commercial, to remind myself (comically) to “Go General” whenever I start getting caught up in the Specifically Negative.
In fact, the humor of it all appeals to me; we’ll have to see if it works in practice.
Sunday and Monday have been so full and with so many thoughts to share, but alas right now I must save the bulk of them until tomorrow’s post.
In the meantime, Dear Readers, if you are dismayed, please remember to look for bright, shiny objects … and always “Go General!”
