I finished re-filing and organizing everything today and it was MAJOR. [Filing cabinets, shelves, closets, and drawers.]
Part of it was that the physical embodiment of stuff for me really reflects all my mental stuff, and so re-sorting a lot of business and personal things inside my head, was concretized when I arranged their representations.
I also watched VITO about Vita Russo on HBO today which I found extremely moving and inspiring and made me want to watch THE CELLULOID CLOSET again immediately.
Bikram.
Dinner with Susan, Sarah, and Belle at Hillstone.
Then I got lost in yet another HBO documentary, my 3rd in 24 hours –- I watched Me @ the Zoo earlier which was both fun and disturbing about ultimate Britney Spears fan (and totally uncloseted) Chris Crocker –– namely a 30 minute Renée Fleming masterclass with young singers which was delightful.
The four young singers could not have been more sweet and enthusiastic and appreciative, and RF was as always beyond amazing in her technique and approachability.
And then somehow I got lost in her singing at Obama’s inauguration –– amazing at how lucky we are … and wondering why I can only find this on German TV…Wake Up America. [And again, it’s always incredibly depressing/a great wake-up call to realize that one of the most amazing voices and artists on the planet can be criticized by anonymous fools on youtube. What does it matter though; in the end, she’s still Renée Fleming and they are … (truly) anonymous.]
