I forgot to mention that on Saturday morning, before the pedicures and the Bikram, I moved Susan’s car for her and noticed that suddenly this was on the back of my car: “Because We Like Sand.”
I had mentioned a few days before that Belle and I had our first trip to the beach in my new car, and there was just a moment of realizing that some sand coming in is inevitable.
And –– especially with the come-to-your-door car wash service CHERRY –– this really is one of my easier problems to solve.
When I saw these cute little magnets on the back of my car, however, I laughed out loud (after having a moment where I thought they might actually be stickers, which might have been a bolder, more permanent statement than I wanted.)
It is actually very helpful to remember that every delightful beach walk has a small price –– just some grains of sand –– and since this is inevitable, we might as well come to love the sand (even though I vow to vacuum it out on a bi-weekly basis.)
In other news …
My Hong Kong-traveling yoga client is back and so I taught her this morning, followed by lunch at Cavallo Point with Belle and SK(W) and JW(K). [It was also a big reminder that in a couple of months I have an art event there that I haven’t given any thought to whatsoever.]
Home in time with a client call and then I spent this Rosh Hoshana evening listening to 3 hours of workshop materials lent to me by my friend Lisa Rothstein on the finer-points of goal-setting that were actually quite inspiring (and perfect for “the new year.”)
In fact, in just a bit, armed with several new worksheets, I’m planning to head to Don Pistos for a marguerita and some goal setting, determined to start the New Year right.
