Today began with a MAJOR synchronicity that was so uncanny that … I don’t think I can really reveal it here (yet).
Morning spent pricing the art & drafting my email newsletter amongst other phone calls … until I realized that Belle really did deserve some swimming time since I was going to leave her in the cottage by her lonesome for a few hours later that afternoon (I’ll explain why in a moment).
Saw this writing on the sands at the beach, right after I reunited with Susan and Val who were leaving –– our timing didn’t quite work out –– and Susan mentioned that they had found a set of Range Rover keys with a Crunch membership tag and were off to return them to Crunch, Good Samaritan style.
Fifteen minutes later, walking along the shore, a woman with a nice brown dog came up to me and started talking and –– after removing my headphones –– asked me if I’d found any keys. I replied, “No, but my friends had,” and Voila … keys and owner reunited. [It also, by the way, didn’t seem like she was asking everyone either –– she seemed to just feel drawn to interrupt my iPhone headphone reverie.
Dropped Belle off for her “private time” since I was picking up my godchild Atheron at Cavallo to show him (and some friends of his) my exhibit before we went off to sensory deprivation floating as his Xmas gift. [Note: I realize that not every godfather/godchild combo does stuff like this, but what can I say –– both of us are totally into it.]
Floating was particularly amazing, enhanced because since my surgery, it was the first time I was allowed to actually submerse myself in water (showering was fine, but not bathing/swimming for 3+ weeks.)
Afterward, John and Belle joined us for dinner at Plant, and we walked back to reconnect with Susan who’d just finished teaching.
And as a final cap to the day, just learned that Belle and I are featured HERE on this Oprah-driven website for UPWARD DOG.
[Note: None of this really explains why I haven’t yet watched the season premiere of DOWNTON ABBEY –– it has only been available to me on PBS.com since Monday –– other than that I’m terribly addicted to IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA which represents its polar opposite in every conceivable way. Go figure.]
