That’s what Andrea Lake said to me today when she spotted me on the beach.
She’d called me a few hours earlier in the morning, letting me know she was making a short, intense surprise trip to San Francisco, and wondered whether we could have a breakfast or a coffee.
A few texts and messages back and forth … and then I took Belle for a beach walk between client calls … and then Andrea spotted my little dog on the beach and turned to her friend Christopher and said, “That’s the happiest dog I’ve ever seen.”
And then she realized it looked a lot like Belle.
And that the pup was swimming out to retrieve a stick like Belle does.
And only then did she recognize me, heading towards me wearing her pink bikini and waving!
In other news, besides synchronicitous beach rendezvouses, I sent out the mass email late last night and awoke to lots of responses, and several appointments via my new calendar program and now have 2 more clients.
[One minor footnote, in case you think my day is all about running into beautiful friends in bikinis on beautiful beaches: my email seems to have enraged a raw foodist who is working on becoming a breatharian in Alaska who sent me not one, not two, but three emails cursing me out for including her on my mailing list …. There’s just so much material there that it seems best to just WALK AWAY COMPLETELY (sigh).]
Almost ready to share more about the newest LLS project + another vague, semi-amazing possibility for UPWARD DOG … but not yet.
And as a final note, my favorite part of RELEASE ME (the CD from Streisand’s vault) that was just released is how she’s included snippets from between takes at the recording sessions. My favorite is the moment where following a spectacular take of this Brigadoon medley, after the orchestra bursts into applause she murmurs into the mike, “Not Bad.”
That’s how I’m feeling about my life these days.
Not Bad, Indeed.
