My cleaning project began today at around 8:30 am and is only now ending. I feel deeply satisfied by all this, believing it’s ideal re-aligning work for all this Fall has in store.
Throughout the day, I have watched most of the third season of DAMAGES –– which is riveting –– while scrubbing the bathroom floor, defrosting the freezer, doing six loads of laundry (including all bedding, rugs, plus the towels used to soak up the defrosting project), and went through a mountain of paperwork as well.
I can’t tell if it’s because I was literally cleaning out cobwebs or if it was watching the incredibly intricate machinations on DAMAGES (Glenn Close is extraordinarily spider-like) but for the first time ever I actually watched a fly get caught in a spider web inches from me and my computer, and I actually caught it on my iPhone:
This was fascinating and shocking –– and also left me with the weird task of now having filmed the spider and posting it on YouTube, whether it would meet the same rigorous fate as the rest anything in my cleansing path. [At least it had a fully satisfying Last Supper.]
In other news, a bird flew into the Magic Cottage while I was airing it out, looked at me for a moment and then flew out.
Once again, I’m kinda exactly like Snow White, except with less help in the household chores department.

I’d pay money to see you in the snow white dress
How much exactly, Valerie? I’ve never shied away from an honest dollar….
