It’s a Cat Stevens song from 1967–– covered by Rod Stewart and Sheryl Crow –– and it’s still true to this day.
Except, I mean diving into this revision of my script.
I started cutting with some Rumi quotes that I loved:
“Let beauty we love be what we do … ”
“This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival … ”
“Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere, they’re in each other all along … “
Lines I love, but I think were premature/confusing in the narrative given our hero’s ongoing evolution.
That cut was merely ceremonial, since I have to go back and adjust a bunch of things regarding it.
It was also easy to bump up one story element –– two blips of scenes that completely solved one particular problem –– but my goal before bed tonight is to actually do the meaty work of some restructuring/reconceiving of the penultimate scenes (right now they are a little too dialogue-driven, one after another.)
Miracle Moment –- as soon as I start dissecting scenes today, a quite promising thing happened re: the project’s representation.
And I also began a serious juice cleanse today as well. As usual, I feel a little high from the super-nutrition but totally alert and functional (AND smugly virtuous, too.)
And interestingly I felt today was my “easiest” Bikram class –– it’s always light-years away from easy, but you know what I mean –– probably because of all the liquid I’ve been consuming since dawn.
And now –– alternating between watching episodes of THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW on Netflix –– I must return and continue working my way through the list of rewrite requirements, as long as much juice-inspired fingers will allow me.
[By the way, they really do come in these incredible glass bottles –– for which they charge you an $80 deposit –– that add a great deal to the charm of the experience.]
