Happy Hour (75 minutes actually)

Taught my first 12:30 Lotus Happy Hour on Friday and it was delightful.
It’s always a moment or two before I can tell how much of myself I can really reveal to the room — will they be charmed or confused — but the very small class and I were totally on the same page.
Played (twice) James Blake’s new/first album which is GENIUS.  Seriously.
(He’s so cool he’s blurry in almost every photo.)
I absolutely LOVE the album — soothing and hypnotic and endlessly intriguing.
My favorite spontaneous line during the class was when I said, “The thing I really like about this music is that you never know what’s going to happen next –– a quality I actively dislike in real life!”  (Actually, the very heart of my spiritual practice.)
Post class, we discovered that the Blue Angels have more or less taken over the beach and thus Belle and my post-teaching beach walk was prevented.  (sigh)
Delightful early dinner with Susan, however, before her 4:30 am wake-up for her flight, followed by more marketing work interspersed with The Vampire Diaries.  The show is truly beginning to exhaust me heart, mind, and soul and yet still — much like its love-struck teenage characters — I cannot quite let go.
Walked Belle at 11 pm who pretty much insisted we stop in at Don Pistos for a nightcap (she literally would not budge) and since this provides a second happy hour for me to look over notes for the new play, I complied.
I am trying desperately to feed her the free chips they keep bringing 2:1 in her favor since I am VERY seriously committed to getting into (or at least thinking about getting into) HSN infomercial shape in record time.
Are most infomerical stars walking their dogs pre-midnight margaritas while going over scenes from their top secret new play — one can only hope, I suppose.
